The Next Chapter begins…

Brink_Pix_012

While hectic, closings on both Kane and Andrews went off without a hitch!  Getting the moving truck a 1/2 day early helped as well.  The truck was packed floor to ceiling, front to back and there was a pick-up truck load as well as the Trailblazer was packed too!  None the less was able to get it all, clean up the Kane Rd place and head east to Greenwood.  Spent the night at the Hotel in Loyal with the dogs on Tuesday night.  Wednesday morning closed on the Andrews house and started unloading the truck.  Took the truck back to Neilsville at 3:00pm that afternoon.  For December in Wisconsin both the day moving out and that Wednesday moving in were about as nice a days as you could ask for!  Thursday we got 7” of snow and its been cold and snowing ever since…

In the Back Yard  Kitchen/Dining room

It’s been almost 3 weeks to the day on moving in, just about 98% of the house is in order, there’s some odds and ends to organize yet but not bad.  We’ve put in all new CFL blubs in the entire house, dimmer switches, curtains, new blinds and replaced the vertical blinds in the bedroom with room darkening ones.  Put in a new kitchen faucet, hung pictures, moved shelves and even have the garage pretty well organized.  There will be more there once the weather gets nicer and can check on getting a shed to put the lawn and garden stuff in and out of the garage.  Still have some painting to do, namely the kitchen as Kathy hates the yellow, were going to go with a light gray color that should look very nice.

We both really like the new house, now that Boomer and Einstein have settled in from all the moving, they both love having a nice fenced in back yard and have already met a number of the neighborhood dogs as well.  Greenwood seems to be a nice little town, while some planning for shopping and such has to be thought out a little, as it is about a 55 mile round trip to Marshfield for the major shopping stores…Menards, Walmart, Target, Festival Foods, Shopko, Walgreens and such.  There is a nice little neighborhood hardware store and lumber store in Greenwood and Loyal has a bigger hardware store called Fourmens and the prices are not to bad, all things considered!  People are nice and friendly, the neighborhood is quiet and no cars, trucks zooming by all hours of the day and night.  Getting used to the Noon and 9:00pm sirens, but it’s kind of cool!

All in all it’s pretty nice, were getting settled in and are moving on with the next chapter in our lives!
