November 9,2016

Well here it is the 9th of November, since I last wrote of  the loss of Einstein...we also had to put Boomer down.  Both our babies gone in less then 5 weeks.  Very sad indeed.

We now have a new Golden puppy, his name is Edison such a quite little shit.  Kinda forgot how much energy puppies have....eeek!

Oh yeah I almost forgot, we have a new President (Donald J Trump) put that in your pipe and smoke it democrats!!!   For the first time since 1928 we have a Republican majority in House, Senate, Governors and the presidency.  Well let's see if anything good gets done or just the same old bullshit the always spews from Washington.  Tune will only tell the tale?

Well any how's just wanted to do a quick update and now it's time for me to get back to blowing shit up on Armored Warfare!

Have a good day today and better day tomorrow...
Keep your stick on the ice...

Saturday October 1, 2016

This has been a very long and sad week.  Just can't stop thinking about Einstein!  He was the baby and has had it rough from early on...chewing through extension cord and getting sapped he has had lung problems and we always had a fan on him.  If it got to hot/humid we would turn on the AC more so for him than us.  Every dog we've had, it's hard to watch them go, but Einstein seems to have been the worst one to loose.  Well there will be another Golden, I would have no other dog in the future, they are just such loving dogs!

Monday September 26, 2016

Today is a very sad day...we had to have Einstein put to sleep!  About 2 weeks ago he went out in the yard and his back legs gave out, we took him to the vet and they gave him Steroids and anti-inflammatory.  But they did not work and he could not walk.  He laid in his own urine and licking his entire back half was raw.  Well we could not stand seeing him in so much discomfort so we had him put to sleep.

Einstein 1/1/2008 - 9/26/2016 R.I.P. my buddy, my friend.

Thank you for all the love and happiness you brought to us over the past 9 years.

Happy 4th of July!

Armored Warfare

Sunday July 3, 2016:

Once again it is sometime between posts, day away from the 4th of July.  Sadly the usual 4th will no longer be the same as the past 15.  Friend and Family member Rhonda Klick passed away from her battle with breast cancer on June 10th 2016, she was 52 years old so may you RIP Rhonda.  In the past year I've had 3 people that have succumbed to their battle with cancer- Very sad! :(

Summer has arrived, sort of.  Paying for the mild winter with a mild summer it has not been overly warm and down right cool at nights thus far.  We've made a few outdoor decor changes this year that look quite nice.  Next one will be a new fire pit as the current one is about to be put to rust. ;)  Hope everyone is having a nice summer?

Treatments at home are still going well, had a few bad days here and there, which is pretty much to be expected.  Working on the odd project here and there and playing Armored Warfare on MY.COM.  Fun and addictive game.  It certainly helps pass away the hours.

Have a safe and happy summer everyone, Bye for now!

No April Fool's here!

Sunday April 3, 2016

Not very April like here right now...it made it to a balmy 38 degrees.  Most of the 3" of snow we got on Friday has once again gone away.  Man-o-man I'm sick of winter!  I want spring, and I want it now...damn it!  The forecast for the next week is not much better highs in the mid 30's to low 40's.  Well not much one can do about it, but wait.

I'm making a name change to the Blog from Dave's Place to the 'The Nest' as pretty much what I have here is my little nest.  I have most of what I need and spend many hours each and every day up here on the 2nd floor.

Just been doing my treatments and playing Armored Warfare, occasionally a few tasks from time to time.  Generally the biggest decision to make is "what the hell to have for supper?"  Well I'm boring myself, so I won't continue to put you to sleep...unless you have insomnia then by all means I did mean to put you to sleep.

So I shall leave you with a couple pictures from the game:

they should at least find you handy"

Thanks for stopping by, and you all come back ya hear!

Gaming-Armored Warfare!

Armored
Warfare
Screenshots!

Welcome back!  I don't know how many of you out there play on-line games?  I've really just started recently with some Facebook games.  The next was World of Warships, which for me sucked as I could never get it to load and play without it constantly flickering making it virtually impossible to play the game, so I deleted it!  Next and now playing Armored Warfare from  my.com, now this has been a fun game so far with a few exceptions.  Great graphics and I have not a one issue with the game loading or playing it.  There a two different modes of play PVP & PVE the first is player vs. player in a 15 member match, the latter is 5 player vs. AI tanks.  The couple draw backs is the game is currently in the beta version so they are working on improvements all the time and if you are serious about playing, then it is good to get involved in the community and forums. When I started there was not very much information on how to play the game.  But it is improving everyday with videos of how to plan and play different vehicles.  Every new vehicle is a bit different and it does take some time to get used to driving and what it will and will not do.  Getting to know the maps and the different battlefields which varies from towns to desserts to mountains.  It is a very fun game to play, especially if you like FPS and war games.  Now the other drawback and I'm sure this is true with any game that you play on line.  There are players that are well...ASSHOLES!!!  Cry baby whiners that want to blame 'their' mistakes on anyone/everyone else.   With this game there is a chat feature to communicate with the other players during game play.  I know this from first hand experience, you just need to ignore these whiny, pissy babies and have fun playing!  There are plenty of good nice players out there willing to give you 'constructive criticism'  and helpful tips and tricks to playing the game.  Ignore the ASSHOLES and have fun playing the game.  There are many different tanks, scouts, artillery and armored fighting vehicles.

I did also play Soldiers Inc. for some time but after a while it got very boring.  Guess you just have to be into the MMO style, which I am not.  Loose interest way to fast.

So that's about it for this edition, I've given my view point on gaming and I do recommend playing Armored Warfare.

Everyone have a wonderful day and I'll see you next time!

Gaming and Fixing

Armored WarfareArmored Warfare

It's the last Sunday of February, no treatment today so hooray!  Yesterday it was almost 60, today it's 30 and a mixed bag of rain, snow, sleet...it's warm and dry at my keyboard.

So I've been working on the upstairs bathroom, the tub in particular.  Picked up a new faucet with a diverter for a hand held shower, which given the size of this bathroom is a must.  Trying to switch all fixtures over to the brushed nickle vs. the polished chrome.  The nickle looks nicer and is so much easier to keep clean.  There is some behind the wall plumbing work that needs to be done along with the rest of the job.  But, with a crawl space closet getting at the plumbing is very easy!  The final piece of the project will be changing the sink faucet to a single handled nickle faucet and then the bath will be complete!  Should look pretty nice and at least somewhat updated from years of nothing being done to it.  Have done some painting and put in a tile floor...well if you can call a 2' x 4' a floor?

Along with the bathroom project, I've been getting into on-line gaming a lot more then ever before.  I've tried a few different games but the one that I have the banner for above I seem to like the best!  Seems to be a very fun game to play.  After years of using the same keyboard and mouse, opted for a new G-910 keyboard and a G502 Proteus gaming mouse.  Both are LED back lit and designed for gaming..so thus far I am very happy with the choices.  The other pretty cool thing is Logitech has an app for the G-series you install on your phone and you can see PC stats and game stats on your phone vs. a little LCD screen that some of the other keyboards had.  When your tied to this desk for 30 hours a week for my dialysis treatments a guy has to have something to occupy his time?

On a totally new subject, after trying the credit/debt consoling path, which by the way I don't recommend at all.  They do not give a flying crap about you, while the lie through their teeth and tell you they do...they don''t!  Their loyalties lie 100% with the credit companies.  So don't be fooled by the rhetoric they spew!  Have now gotten a lawyer to file chapter 7 bankruptcy.  The only course left to get this giant ACME anvil off our shoulders!  The process has just started and it takes about 4 months and $1500.00 by the time it's all said and done.  I have enough things to deal with daily without have to deal with a bunch of assholes calling for money I don''t have any longer.

Well that's about it for this article of trivial ramblings, have a great Sunday and hopefully March comes in like a lion and goes out like a docile, warm baby lamb!  Later peeps, back to AW for me!

Last Saturday of January 2016

Here we are the end of January 2016…already?  Man time flies, the one great thing is that Spring is on the horizon now.  Days are getting longer, the frigid temps should be a thing of the past here very shortly.  We’ve had a very mild winter as winters go.  But still I will not be content until the windows are open and I’m able to go outside without a jacket on!  Not that it shall make much of a difference to my routine, which will be much the same…but at least will be able to go out in the yard, spend some time in the garage workshop and get a little more of a break from the upstairs tower of dread (only kidding).   Any how’s today is overcast and in the 30’s, there is the good possibility of a winter storm hitting here early next week.  Might get to use the snow blower for the 2nd time this winter?
As you can see everything is still snow covered and a pretty bleak day thus far.
January was a rough month, always is!  I won’t even mention the whole holidays thing.  But water bill, property taxes, having to start over on insurance deductibles…well yippee kiyay!  Hopefully February will mellow out some and get things back to a normal pace!  One can only hope anyway?

Winter Arrives!

Winter has most certainly arrived... -5 to -15 below F for nighttime lows.  Just barely making it above zero for daytime highs.  Of course add in the 'wind' and your looking at -30F!  Hibernation time...nothing works quite right with these temps, just filling up your gas tank is a challenge.  On the bright side the days are slowly getting longer, the sun is getting warmer and there should only be about 2 months left before spring arrives!!!  From my point of view it can't get here quick enough.

Between getting ready for my dialysis treatments and actually doing the treatments, just been trying to get a few little things done.  Today was doing some vacuuming and dusting.  Got a heat vent that needs to be resized so it fits properly in the intended slot.  Keeping the humidifiers filled...sometimes seems like a full time job.  In between doing these things I need to gather supplies and get set up for treatment.

Well a little surprise today the SAK that I would normally use failed the conductivity test 3 times in a row (50L) only options is to drain it and use bags (5L) as it takes about 3 hours to drain and 5 hours to make a new SAK. Well let me tell you using the bags are no fun at all!  Much more of a pain to set up, why some people opt to use the bags all the time vs. having the Pureflow and using SAKs is beyond me, the Pureflow is sooooo much easier!

Welcome to Twenty-Sixteen!

Another year has come and gone and we’re two days into the new year!  2015 was fairly uneventful.  Completed a few projects around the house, which was a good thing.  The summer was pretty nice, was able to spend a good deal of time outdoors.  Early in the year tried PD but that did not work out at all for me.  Went through a 4 week training course on Home Hemodialysis.  I’m now on my 4th month of doing my treatments at home on my schedule and not someone else’s.  As a matter of fact that is what I’m currently doing. 4 hrs./day, 5 days a week.  Well at least I can sit here watch TV, listen to the radio and fart around with the computer…so that makes the time go much faster.
Did a little fishing this summer, no catching just fishing Can’t win .  That was pretty much it for last year, made it through the Holiday Season…however I’m glad it’s over and done with and time to move on to whatever this year shall bring forth.
them all.  Hopefully this year will be better
Well that’s about all I have for this post, just wanted to say hello and welcome to 2016!!
